Played the ” come dancing ” stage at Bestival on the opening Thursday, expecting a sedate warm up evening turned into a full on rave, thanks to all that caught me, wow it was intense! loved it. Also caught hot chip, richie hawtin, from what i can remember, very messy!
Also played at a last minute MTV party at a Race Course in Paris last tuesday, with breakbot before me slammin the french underground sound, it was pretty daunting coming on after him, but went pretty well in the end. Managed to miss my flight back early wednesday, so a day round CDG terminal 1 was in store, what a cool airport, a cross between 2001 a space odyssey and star wars.
And not forgetting the STOP MAKING SENSE FESTIVAL, ooph, that was a great weekend, again thanks to everyone who came to listen to my 2 sets, and big hello to all i met, come make yourself known. The WARM boat party was crazy, really had a great day!

Cigarette & Alcohol fuelled late night session. Mostly a vinyl selection with some new tracks and promos played via the CD format.
No slow “eaze in’s”, straight into house & garage spanning the last 20 years, from 1990 Nu groove to 2010 UQ, passing into new Mark E material and remixes, with Karan pollard representing the mid 90’s house resurgence before culminating in intense afrodisco, then easing off into slow twilight hour sleaze.

So, Japan was amazingly good. The people, the cities, the trains, the record shops, the food, and the parties were all amazing. I had the pleasure of playing at the old Yellow club, now entitled eleven, wow what a sound, then moved onto Hiroshima and played an ace little party in a tiny but perfectly formed venue, my hosts were impeccable and the crowd wild. Next was Shizouka, again small club but great atmosphere as always welcomed with open arms, thanks people, then lastly Osaka, WOW, now this is a city, the future today! Started off the day meeting up with Prins Thomas and headed off with Hagi for some Record shopping, got some great jazz recommendations from Hagi and PT and spent a fortune. Warmed up for PT at Magnet club in the evening, another special night to round off a special weekend, Thanks JAPAN!

The ” Mark E Works 2005 – 2009 ” is finally out in the shops. Heres what Boomkat had to say:
”Over the second half of the last decade Mark E has cemented a reputation as one of the worlds most respected slow house and disco producer/editor/DJs. ‘Mark E Works 2005-2009′ collects eight of Mark’s finest tracks during this period, all characterised by his predilection for sub 115bpm tempos and headily groovesome source material. His edit of Labelle’s ‘Moon Shadow’, now known as ‘Sun Shadow’ is the ideal case in point, reshaping the disco classic to his own slow-motion scheme, while his 2008 Running Back single ‘Slave 1′ offers a masterclass in hypnotic house arrangements at a severly reduced tempo. Meanwhile, his awesome edit of Gabor Szabo’s ‘Keep Smiling’ (here as ‘Smiling’) shows the psychedelic potential of such drastic bpm measurements with gorgeously opiated effect before the heaving shimmer of ‘Night Mover’ surely gives Theo Parrish a good run for his dollar. By this point you’re irretrievably sucked into his groove, so a dapper edit of Birth Control’s ‘Plastic People’ and the grinding boogie of ‘RnB Drunkie’ should keep your heads firmly down until the lights come on. Fans of the Workshop label, Trusme or the Lindstrom need to check this without fail.”
