Getting excited about the weekend coming up, Im Djing at the Electric Minds Loft party this Saturday In trendy Shoreditch, London.

Ive taken some time off over summer, which has been really productive, theres a whole load of remixes coming out soon, Another MERC 12″ is finished which will have a Prins Thomas mix plus a release for soft rocks boys finished and waiting to go. And working on album for release next year. keep it bleak!

Alot happening with Merc at the moment, so Ill try and keep it brief. This week MERC003 is released, Tracks special fx & Christo received nicely so far, with plays on BIS and support from Jimpster, Revenge, Horse Meat Disco, Prins Thomas, Gerd Janson, Michael Rutten, Micheal Reinboth. Plus we going digital with MERC001 this week exclusive to JUNO. Also look out for some T shirts on their way soon.

The last few months seem to have been dedicated to remixing, and really excited about all of them, take special care to listen out for the Mark E remixes of Matthew Dear, Frank Booker and KIDA ( sundaybest ).

Taking a break from playing out this summer as im taking extended paternity leave from travelling about, so concentrating on getting some music finished and ready to go later in the year.

Oh yeah, also look out for new Running Back 12″, sounds BIG this one, haha, have a good summer, updates updated regularly.

Cigarette & Alcohol fuelled late night session. Mostly a vinyl selection with some new tracks and promos played via the CD format.

No slow “eaze in’s”, straight into house & garage spanning the last 20 years, from 1990 Nu groove to 2010 UQ, passing into new Mark E material and remixes, with Karan pollard representing the mid 90’s house resurgence before culminating in intense afrodisco, then easing off into slow twilight hour sleaze.

March has been a real busy month, Japan, Paris & then Australia for Easter weekend. Sydney Harbour Boat party was really fun, thanks to everyone i met over there, hopefully next time i can stay longer. Playing Vienna on the 1st May and also Brighton towards the end of May.

The new remix for the very cool Claremont 56 label is out this week too, must say im really pleased with this one. And ive just finished a remix for Mushrooms project on UTS which sounds raw!!!! Theres also a remix for LNA on its way, plus a remix for NEEDSWANT, and a Jamie Lloyd remix on Future classic imminent, busy times.

So the next MERC 12″ is finally ready to go, hopefully looking for a release of Early May.

So, Japan was amazingly good. The people, the cities, the trains, the record shops, the food, and the parties were all amazing. I had the pleasure of playing at the old Yellow club, now entitled eleven, wow what a sound, then moved onto Hiroshima and played an ace little party in a tiny but perfectly formed venue, my hosts were impeccable and the crowd wild. Next was Shizouka, again small club but great atmosphere as always welcomed with open arms, thanks people, then lastly Osaka, WOW, now this is a city, the future today! Started off the day meeting up with Prins Thomas and headed off with Hagi for some Record shopping, got some great jazz recommendations from Hagi and PT and spent a fortune. Warmed up for PT at Magnet club in the evening, another special night to round off a special weekend, Thanks JAPAN!

Been out of action for a while, the mini tour in January took it out of me, need to slow down a bit. So some new stuff been going on, I am now going via Alchemy Remix Management for all remix enquires contact howiemartinez@me.com .

Also got a mini tour of Japan happening in March, super exciting to be playing at the old Yellow club, now re-opened as ” eleven”. And then on to Australia for easter, busy stuff happening. Also i will be at the Big chill house on March 5th for the warm night with Gerd Janson, Mock & Toof, Simon Lee & Joel Martin of Quiet Village, looking forward to this.

Expect a new Merc 12″ easter time also, Kramer makes his bedut release. Respect Mark E.

ive just returned from the second weekend of the MERC compilation release mini tour in Russia, the first weekend took me to Poland. Here is some footage from Dennis Simachev Bar in Moscow, it was my second visit here and hopefully not my last.

great crowd, and lovely hosts Timofey & Sergey looked after me all weekend.

Next weekend i play THE CAMP in london on friday and then on to Marseille on Saturday. Busy times!

The UK has come to a stand still due to a little bit of snow, so decided to spend the day away from xmas shopping and have added a part 2 to MERC mix#1, see the mixes section.

Inspiration for the mix taken from a wicked night i had the pleasure at playing at called Cutloose in Manchester on Friday, top hosts, top club, top night. So following on from part 1 with some deep house moods from svek & gerkin jerks defrosting the icy pathways into the new undertheshade Nocturn track, via a choopy transition into disco we finish off with music from new MERC signing “Kramer”, Tiger Woods & another Undertheshade exclusive from Ilija Rudman ” What am i Gonna Do” which sounded ace as the last tune on Friday.
